Our lives are so busy at times that it can be all too easy to focus only on the negative and tiring things that have happened during the week. To counteract this, every week I like to reflect on all the moments of the past week that have made me happy.
This week seems to have been one of those that completely flashes by in an instant. Things have been so busy, both at work and at home, that I feel like I haven’t stopped for a minute. And yet I can hardly recall anything that we have done. It was another bad week for picture taking too so I can’t use those to jog my memory. There are a few moments that stand out though:
- L coming home from preschool looking like Princess Fiona from Shrek. She had apparently been using the green pen to put makeup on! It may have been a nightmare to get off but it did make me laugh and she thought it was the best thing ever.
- M asked me to photocopy some of his best drawings for him to give to his friends on the last day of term.
- One of M’s friends is moving away next week so we invited him over after school on Friday and they spent most of Saturday together too. They’ve only really become such good friends over the last couple of months so the timing of it all is a bit sad but it was great to watch them having a good time and making plans to call and email each other.
- Today is my Dad’s birthday and when he came round L sat down at her keyboard and sang him Happy Birthday. It was the cutest thing ever. Then we all went out for a lovely Sunday dinner followed by a walk down the lane to see the some animals.
How about you? What has made you smile this week?
