Welcome back to the #funseekingkids round-up. Every month Susie (This Is Me Now) and I share our favourite 8 pictures linked up to our Instagram Community. If you’d like to take part just add #funseekingkids to any pictures of your kids having fun. You can find out more here.
How amazing is this heatwave we’re having? It’s honestly like living in a foreign country and I think this month has to be the first time ever that every single photo linked up has been sunny. Not a single muddy puddle or umbrella in sight!
I’m a little late getting this month’s post out because life is kind of taking over at the minute and blogging has very much taken a back seat (although at the moment it feels like it’s moved out of the back seat and into the boot) and I’m finding it hard to keep up. Susie is in a very similar place with her blog at the moment too and having discussed it we have made the very tough decision to bring the #funseekingkids round-up posts to an end. The hashtag of course will stay around and we’ll both be popping in and liking whenever we get the chance so please do still continue to use it, it has become such a great community and we’re so proud of it.
Who knows, somewhere down the line, when (if) we have more time maybe one or both of us will revive the round-ups, but for now I’m afraid, this is the last.
This picture has me really wanting to go strawberry picking, not only is it fun but it can be a great way of getting kids to eat fruit too when they’ve picked it themselves.
So today little miss sasshole decided to throw a paddy whilst in the pool with me and Joe. It was one of those tantrums in public where you can just feel all eyes on you and you feel the pressure is ON to get your child to SHHH ASAP. I don’t even really know what caused the tantrum but wow did she let us and the entire hotel know she was not a happy bunny. Joe ended up having to do the whole under the arm hold as she kicked and screamed back to the loungers, it was not a pretty sight as I sluuunk back slowly after them trying to avoid eye contact with anyone around us. I think there should be two options for how people should react when witnessing another child throwing a tantrum- option one- ignore it and pretend you don’t hear the ear piercing screams. Do not, as two women did today, talk about how bloody well behaved little Flossy and Gerald are being and what little bloody angels they are whilst my child is having the worlds biggest hissyfit as it is just not helpful, nobody likes a gloater. Option two- give a reassuring FRIENDLY understanding smile to the parent, not this 🧐 like a judgey mcjudgey pants it makes me want to take my screaming kicking child and aim a flailing limb right at their face. Anyway, a bit of time in the shade to cool off and calm down and all was well and it wasn’t long before another child was kicking off much to my secret relief that we aren’t the only ones dealing with a tiny little angry human! . . . #UKBloggerLife #coolmumclub, #littleloves, #capturingtheday, #pinklinker, #capturingcolour, #ukparentbloggers, #mummybloggersuk, #snaphappyBritMums, #myfamilyadventures, #LittleFierceOnes,#mydarlingmemory, #happylittlebuttons, #WorldofLittles, #rememberingthesedays, #playadventures #preciousmoments, #cherishthesemoments, #myhappycapture, #clickinmoms, #pixel_kids, #funseekingkids #our_everyday_moments, #littlestoriesofmylife, #cameramama, #toddlerofig, #themagicineveryday, #mycapturedmomentm, #letsgolittles, #awanderfulchildhood
This picture is just full of so much character and mischief, I love it. I also love the long ranty caption that goes with it as this is exactly how I feel every time my youngest kicks off in public and I’m sure you can all relate too. You can catch more from Beth on her blog A Blonde and a Baby.
M O N D A Y • 0 2 / 0 7 Well the weekend seemed to go quicker than ever. This one had his lego birthday party and then we visited the Confetti Fields. After seeing them all over social media last year I knew I wanted to try and capture some pictures of the boys when they were ready again. Theres a post over on the blog sharing what I managed to capture and a little more about the fields themselves. Of course having a toddler does mean that they are not as polished as I would like, but then its our family here and now.
How gorgeous are these flowers?! I really wish we lived nearer, I’d be there this weekend for sure. You can catch more from Clare on her blog Mudpie Fridays.
This looks like heaven for all the hot weather we’ve been having later! You can catch more from Katie on her blog Mummy in a Tutu.
Water play with some citrus fruits thanks to the brilliant idea from @play.hooray. I seen on her story that someone had suggested putting a tea towel down for your child to sit on which worked a treat as she didn’t slip at all 👍swipe to see her trying some lemon 😂🍋 . . . . . #babyplay #babyplaytime #waterplay #learningthroughplay #summerplay #playmatters #sensoryplay #playfullearning #littleoneslearn #outsideeveryday #myeverydaymoments #childcareadventures #curiouslittleexplorers #earlychildhood #simplychildren #adventuresofchildren #funseekingkids #howwespendourdays #magicofchildhood #tastetesting #capturingchildhood
What a brilliant way to keep little ones cool and hydrated whilst having fun in the sunshine. This little girl certainly seems to be enjoying herself. You really need to go check out the video of her trying the lemon, too cute! You can catch more from Jen on her blog All About Kids.
This boy loves his ice cream/ice lollies so much. We've started to make our own easy ice lollies by freezing fruit juice in moulds. So much healthier and cheaper. In this super hot weather it seems quite natural to have one a day. I'm sure he'd eat them all the time if he could! It's easy to forget what he's been through until you see his scar and remember what a warrior he's been and how much he's already overcome in his little life #zipperscar #warrior #icecreamlover
If that face is anything to go by, this is the best ice lolly in the entire world! That is one very happy boy. You can catch more from Andrea on her blog Topsy Turvy Tribe.

This is such a great and perfectly timed shot. I would have given anything for an outdoor pool to jump into these past couple of weeks. You can catch more from Lisa on her blog Lisapomerantzster.
You really have to scroll through the photos on this one, not only are there so many cute fairy houses, but the tiny baby frog is adorable. You can catch more from Briony on her blog Any Way To Stay At Home.

Finally, I wanted to share my favourite picture from Susie this past month:
This heatwave is the best!!!!! ☀️🍦🏖 We made the most of it and headed to Brancaster this morning. I bought this playsuit a couple of months ago and haven’t worn it yet. It was very much “for holidays abroad” where I was sure no one could see me in it. Because – thighs. Always on the slightly large size (I’m a pear) and, well, pregnancy and new baby and not enough exercise = wobble. But… it’s hot. It’s fun. I love the colour. And why buy something you’re not going to wear? Miss Belle didn’t bat an eyelid. She was having too much fun rolling down a sand dune and burying herself in sand after watching a little boy do it. I’m trying not to vocalise any worries about weight in front of her so she grows up only ever knowing you should feel confident in your own skin. And yes, I wore my new bikini too. Life’s too short! . . #bodyconfidence #beachtime #nofilter #brancasterbeach #brancaster #funseekingkids #livelifeoutdoors #ukexplore
I am loving Susie’s playsuit in this picture and Miss Belle certainly looks like she’s having a whale of a time rolling down the sand dunes. Looks like a perfect family day out.
And that’s a wrap. Thank you so much to everyone who has joined in with this community and made it what it is today, it’s been an amazing journey x
