Welcome back to the weekly #funseekingkids round-up post. This is where I will share my 4 favourite photos linked up to mine and Susie’s (This Is Me Now) Instagram Community. If you missed the launch post and have no idea what I’m talking about you can read it here: #funseekingkids – A New Instagram Community.
How are you all enjoying the colder weather? We’ve had a few mornings this week that definitely showed winter is round the corner, how is that possible, surely the summer holidays were only a few weeks ago? The colds and coughs are in full force now and L has taken the brunt of it poor thing. I’ve been taking a more relaxed view of blogging this past week to spend more time snuggled up in blankets with her. I even treated her to her first ever viewing of Frozen! She loved the start and the end but got a bit bored in the middle and had to get up and have a play for a bit. There has been lots of ‘do you want to build a snowman?’ singing ever since and I think we’re driving poor M mad 😉
Anyway, on to the good bit. Here are my favourite pictures linked up this week:
I’m loving the yellow hat and coat combo and how this perfectly timed photo shows her hair still swinging as she turns round to face the camera. Such a beautiful photo. You can catch more from Sherry on her blog Life at Cooks Cabin.
I don’t know if it’s because she is my last baby or because when she goes to preschool the house is just too quiet. But I really miss Holly on her preschool mornings. We’ve been talking about increasing her hours after Christmas to prepare for school in September (sob 😢) but I genuinely love having her at home with me. She is great company and is really no trouble at all. She currently does 2 mornings a week and I think I will just extend those to include afternoons too. Then I still have 3 whole days with her. Why do they have to grow up?
I love a walk through the woods and finding some old tree trunks to walk across is always a bonus. This looks like a beautiful place to get out exploring. You can catch more from Laura on her blog Dear Bear and Beany.
Tyler had remembrance parade with Scouts this morning, it's was freezing cold so well done to everyone involved, and for remembering so many important people and what they went through. This afternoon we headed out for a little hunt to find a huge new park that has been built. Well we only went to the wrong side of the Countrypark……!! Not being able to walk far, I think we're save that one for another day 🤣 #project365 #alvervalley #goldenlight
There’s such an ethereal beauty to this picture, the way the light streaks across the photo. At first I thought it was low lying fog in the background too but it’s actually the sun shining on the surface of the water. It’s stunning. You can catch more from Steph on her blog Renovation Bay-Bee.
This last picture had to be included in the round-up the moment I saw it. It’s a real feel good photo. Not only is this little guy totally gorgeous but his outfit is super cute too, and that smile is just amazing! You can catch more from Natalie on her blog Meme and Harri.

Finally, I wanted to share my favourite picture from Susie this week:
First attempt making salt dough and it was a success! Feeling on top of this Mum world after 1) actually doing crafts at home 2) them turning out fairly well! Although I still need to PVA glue them.. Still at least I finally opened the glitter I bought last year! Last year we tried to do some home made xmas cards. Was an epic fail. Lesson learned – just leave the crafts until they’re older and are actually interested! Makes for a much less stressful day! Miss Belle’s had a temp and cough all day so other than this, watch half of Happy Feet and sleep, we haven’t done much. Tomorrow I must get her out in some fresh air as I feel guilty we’ve been stuck indoors all day. But she slept til gone 8am and had a 2 hour nap so she clearly needed to catch up from 2 bad nights! Let’s hope she sleeps tonight!
I’ve never made salt dough before but seeing Susie and Miss Belle’s amazing creations I think I may have to give it a try. And I’m totally in love with Miss Belle’s top!
That’s all for this week, please keep adding #funseekingkids to all your pictures of your kids having fun, we are loving seeing them all. We’ll be back again next week with another four favourites each x
