Have you ever found yourself wanting to learn something new? Have you considered going back to college but don’t have the time? How about an online course? I was recently given the opportunity to do just that with NCC Home Learning.

Looking through the huge list of courses on their website I was spoilt for choice, but at the back of my mind there has always been something I’ve been interested in but never dared take the plunge, and that’s Life Coaching. As soon as I spotted they did a course for that too I signed straight up.

I have recently started a Life Coaching course with NCC Home Learning, click through to find out what I think of the course so far in this first part of my review

The course is usually priced at £408-£432 depending on whether you choose the online or paper version, but at the time of writing there is 20% off all courses during August. Once you’ve paid for your course you’re given a username and password that will take you directly to your own dashboard where you can access all your courses and the relevant materials (this is for the online version of the course, there is a paper version too where the course materials will be delivered by post).

The Life Coaching course is set over 8 modules followed by an exam and each module has downloadable material for you to read and a number of exercises to complete. The course covers the very basics from what Life Coaching is and the different areas it can cover to the skills required and how to apply them as well as several case studies.

As this is a home learning course you have the freedom to work on it whenever you like, making it easy to fit in around other commitments, a definite plus for me.

I’ve only just started the course and am about half-way through module one. Already some of the exercises have really opened my eyes and made me reassess a few areas of my life and I can’t wait to learn more and start putting things into action.

I will keep you all updated with how I am getting on during my Monthly Bucket List posts (I’m aiming for at least one module a month, starting September) and then I will write another more in-depth review once I’ve completed the course.

Disclaimer: I was provided with this online course free of charge in exchange for my honest review, all thoughts and opinions are my own in accordance with my disclosure policy.

  2. Can’t wait to hear more about how the course is going for you. I’m surprised at how little difference there is between the online and post version price, how fantastic!

  8. I love the idea of online courses. I studied at uni but would have to go back to continue as a nurse again (I’m not going to). The idea of online courses like this really appeal. I can’t wait to find out how you get on.
